What are the common brands of PCB Laminate? What is the PCB lead time?
Laminate is very important to the quality of PCB. Generally, commonly used copper clad laminate (CCL) brands are: Shengyi, Jianboard, Lianmao, Nanya, Guoji, vesaire.
If no specified brand, mostly we will use Kingboard and Guoji.
PCB’s lead time starts after all the engineering questions are confirmed. For regular laminate with normal quantity, our lead time is 7-14 günler.
What is special specification PCB? How to calculate the weight of PCB?
In Fully Hong, the normal specification PCB refers to: 1.Fr4, 2.1.6 MM tahta kalınlığı, 3.HOZ basic copper thickness, 4.>0.25 mm aperture, >0.15 mm the line width, 5.HASL lead free.
Mostly different from above specifications are special specifications.
On average, the weight of 1.6 mm, FR4 PCB is 3.3kg~3.8kg per square meter, depending on the board structure.
In some cases, to avoid transportation damage, weight may be increased for single packed board.
Anyway, we will always use the lightest and smallest packaging to save customer’s transportation costs.
What do you need for PCB quotation, and how long does it take?
The PCB quotation is relatively simple, we needthe Gerber file of the PCB, the specifications of the PCB such as 1.the type of laminate (usually FR4), 2.the layers, 3.board thickness, 4.bakır kalınlığı, 5.surface finish, 6.order quantity, vesaire. Generally, PCB quotation needs 1-2 working days.
What are the payment terms for PCBA assembling?
One of Fully Hong’s core value is “Customer First, be trustworthy”. We insist on creating value for customers, operating sincerely and respecting the reasonable demands of all partners. We require ourselves to be honest and put forward such requirement for all partners. This is the cornerstone of establishing a long-term “win-win” partnership.
For cooperation within the first six months, we usually ask for 40%-60% deposit and pay the full amount before shipment.
If both parties have continuous and stable cooperation, we could negotiate to get a more favorable payment term.
Why is Fully Hong more inclined to take Turnkey PCBA orders?
Compared with material supplied orders, Fully Hong prefers to offer Turnkey PCBA service.
The main reason is to save customer’s cost and free them of complicated material purchasing work. Also it could avoid disagreement in case of quality issues.
Fully Hong have established a relatively complete electronic component supply chain. To ensure quality, we only cooperate with official agency or original manufacturer.
We could get better price from partners, so we could save customer’s time and cost from material purchasing.
At the same time, for turnkey orders, in worst case there is a quality issue, whether it is a material problem or assembling problem, Fully Hong will take responsible for it. However if material supplied by customer, once quality issue, it may be assembling problem or poor materials. To avoid and reduce the disagreement in solving quality issues, Turnkey solution is more beneficial to customers.
How to accelerate PCBA processing?
PCBA workflow is not complicate. Although Fully Hong has a strong execution team, all partner’s cooperation is also very important to ensure fast delivery.
In following steps, customer’s support could speed up our processing. 1.Overall forecast includes annual and quarterly delivery schedules: Take a glimpse of the period required from PCBA quotation, proofing prototype confirmation, to component sourcing, PCBA processing. Set aside extra time to deal with unexpected occasions. Make annual and quarterly delivery schedules according to launch time.
2.Purchase some materials in advance: For some long-time delivery, unpopular and expensive materials, it is better to let us purchase quarterly and annually. Some materials delivery period is up to two to three months, for such materials, if forecast is provided, it is necessary to prepare in advance, which can effectively shorten the delivery time and save customer’s cost. (since we could consider buying futures)
3.Timely and rapid communication: Is inevitable that some problems will be encountered, Fully Hong will response promptly to propose solutions for customers’ reference. If we could get feedback soon, it will help us a lot to promote PCBA processing.
What type of order will be applied with AOI, X-ray and FCT?
AOI is used to detect whether the components are missed, reversed, biased, bridged, floated, vesaire. Generally, AOI is required after reflow soldering.
X-ray is mainly for the detection of BGA after mounting, and usually it is random inspection.
The FCT function test is to check the electronic input and output parameters of assembled PCBA. Customer needs to provide test program or cooperates with our engineers to develop it.
What is the lead time for PCBA?
The lead time of PCBA is calculated when all electronic materials are ready. The delivery of latest material decides our lead time.
Generally, it takes longer time to purchase materials abroad.
If all materials arrive, our lead time is 3-5 days for regular volume and 5-10 days for high volume.
In addition to the components and processing cost, why are there engineering costs and stencil costs?
For PCBA workflow, we would get that a lot of preparatory work need to be done before processing. Like sorting out components, programming before mounting and AOI.
Whether for 10-20 pcs samples or large volume, engineers need to process with the preparation. That is engineering cost.
In SMT, stencil is an inevitable tool for solder paste printing. If THT is needed for an quantity order, we are going to make it through wave soldering. Fixture is required for wave soldering, since it could improve efficiency better guarantee quality. Stencil and Fixture cost will be charged only when first production. They could be continuously used if the Gerber file does not change.
The engineering cost (also called start-up fee) is not a one-time cost. Only when quantity is great enough, it could be exempted.
What do you need for PCBA quotation? How long does it take?
Fully Hong Electronics offers 2 types of PCBA service: material supplied by customer and turnkey service. Fully Hong will only need to assemble if all material supplied by customer. It is light cooperation, so we don’t that much. Only BOM list, Gerber files (better with pictures or samples), quantity is required for quotation. We could make quotation within 1-2 working days.
We prefer turnkey service, namely Fully Hong will provide materials and assembling. Same info is required for quotation; however it takes more efforts to get the price. We are going to verify every material’s channel and prices in the BOM one by one. Price will be calculated combined with processing costs, engineering costs .etc. Various with the amount of materials and the complexity of the BOM, time required for quotation is different. Usually it takes 5-10 working days to get it.
What is the importance of component placement in PCB layout design?
Component placement is crucial for the performance and reliability of a circuit. Proper placement ensures efficient routing of traces, minimizes board size and helps manage signal integrity, termal yönetimi, and electromagnetic interference.
