PCB Supplier Chin-Poon’s Stock Surges 6.1%

Though Taiwan’s Taiex index sliding 0.82% to close at 6,733.23 in Taipei trading, the fourth straight day of losses and its lowest close since July 14, 2009, according to reports, the country’s electronics market is showing resilience.

PCB supplier Chin-Poon Industrial Co.’s stock jumped 6.1% to NT $20, the highest since July 29, 2008, after spokesman Hsiao Kung-yen said the company expects its third-quarter shipments to rise at least 20% from the previous quarter.

Memory maker Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation, likewise, surged by its 7% daily limit to NT $3.83, the most since April 30, 2009, leading chipmakers higher as the spot price of the benchmark dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chip increased. Inotera Memories Inc., on its part, gained 5.6% to NT $16.90.
